SPFR100 fire-retardant timber treatment, without hiding the wood.
SPFR100 is a transparent, water-based treatment designed for absorbent timber and wood-based materials. It has a published EuroClass B-s1,d0 reaction-to-fire classification under EN 13501-1 within its tested and certified configuration, with supply and project support across Ireland.
Why architects choose SPFR100
Keeps timber natural
No paint-like film, no visual compromise — the wood looks like wood.
Low consumption
210 ml/m² (240 g/m²) — efficient coverage, predictable costs.
Exterior formulation
Available for weather-exposed absorbent timber. Exterior suitability depends on the substrate, application, detailing, exposure, inspection and maintenance.
How much SPFR100 do you need?
Enter the surface area to be treated. The estimate is based on a typical consumption rate and 5% overage; actual consumption depends on wood species and surface.
Total consumption is the same for Fine-sawn and Planed — only the number of coats differs. Planed timber absorbs less per coat, so it needs three; fine-sawn absorbs more, so two are enough.
An impregnation,
not a coating.
SPFR100 penetrates the surface of absorbent timber rather than forming a visible film. Its published B-s1,d0 classification under EN 13501-1 applies within the tested and certified configuration, while the treatment is designed to help preserve the timber’s natural grain and appearance.
The water-based, solvent-free and formaldehyde-free formulation is designed for applications including cladding, ceilings, structural timber, CLT and joinery. Project suitability must be confirmed for the intended substrate and end-use configuration.
Read the technical detailsDocumented performance and broad application scope
SPFR100 is designed for a wide range of absorbent timber applications. Its published B-s1,d0 classification applies within the tested and certified configuration; other substrates, finishes and end-use configurations require project-specific verification.
Documented classification
Published B-s1,d0 classification under EN 13501-1, supported by certificate ET-0388-24 and classification report K16/2024.
Natural appearance
A transparent treatment designed to retain the grain and appearance of absorbent timber.
Low-emission classification
M1 emission classification 5096, supported by the published certificate.
Tinting options
Selected pigments can provide translucent tones. Compatibility and appearance must be confirmed for the intended substrate.
Exterior formulation
A formulation is available for weather-exposed absorbent timber. SPFR100 does not currently claim an EN 16755 EXT durability classification.
Broad application
Designed for applications including cladding, structural timber, CLT, plywood and log structures, subject to substrate and project verification.
